Breaking the Fear Barrier to Get What You Want – Success!

What is Fear?

It is time to start taking small steps toward progress in all sectors of our lives. Often we experience fear of the unknown which inhibits us from growth and success.  See fear is a mental state of mind, which must be tackled at onset.  No matter how comfortable a situation, routine or other may be, sometimes you have to “shake things” up a bit in order to reach your full potential

Although “fear” factors on negativity, it can also factor on the positive side.  Combating and facing fear can place you in a position to become better, stronger, confident and more courageous in many areas of your life.  There will always be something in the world that you will fear; however you have to change your attitude and beliefs to positively support your overall dream.  Negative attitudes and beliefs become obstacles to achieving success, leading to the number one fear amongst most individuals, the fear of failure.  Again, the fear of failure keeps most from achieving success and designing the life you want and deserve.

It’s time to Break the Barrier!

Look back into your life, at past successes and draw from those successes.  If you have had success in the past, you can have success again in the future. Never be afraid to fail.  It is much better to make an attempt and not succeed, then to have no attempt at all and no opportunity for success.

Robert Kiyosaki, Author of “Rich Dad. Poor Dad” explains the best strategy to overcome a fear (of success):

  • Figure out why you have a fear of success – Take a look at your past experiences and how they affected your outlook on life or confidence in your own ability to succeed.
  • Failure is your friend – Don’t be afraid to try something new. If you fail, learn from the experience and don’t repeat the same mistakes. How many times did we fall down as a toddler before we were able to walk?
  • Self-competition – Don’t beat yourself up if you haven’t achieved the “success” of your peers. Many times what we see is not reality. You may be better off than the person looking like they have it all, but are so deep in debt its crazy. Make an effort to push yourself to the next level. If you are a competitive person by nature it’s crucial not to beat yourself up over defeat. Use the “defeat” to push yourself harder.
  • Think Positive – This is a reoccurring theme here. Positive thought will outweigh all negative circumstances you may experience.

“So go ahead. Fall down. The world looks different from the ground.”  ~ Oprah Winfrey
